"Fate" According to the Book

In English class today, we were having this discussion where we were talking about fate, according to Sophocles' Oedipus the King (translated and introduced by Bernard Knox). All of my classmates had many things to say, all of which revolved around whether or not we could change destiny and our fates. I was leaning more to the 'we cannot change our fates' side.
I was thinking that fate is and will always be 'set in stone'. We cannot change it no matter what we do. Somehow or other, the certain prophecy will fulfill itself and then the 'fate' will become true. I think that 'fate' is a rather broad thing. For example, I was to meet my brother on Friday and then he would be hospitalized. I would originally have told him to meet me at the nearby Starbucks and then he would get stabbed by a stalker or a thief. If I heard that, I would avoid seeing him on the streets but that wouldn't mean that he wouldn't accidentally spot me walking along with my hands in my pockets while he was trying to figure out whether it was me or not. He would be too busy to notice a car approaching at a high speed. He would still have 'met' me and be hospitalized.
I think that's about all I'll say on this topic for now. I might continue this tomorrow. I need to catch some shut-eye before school in around five hours. Good night.

First Day of Blogging

Hello. Nice to meet you all. My name is Sharon Ho and this is my first blog, ever. I don't know what I should post up right now so I guess I will tell you about myself since I have nothing to do. I am currently at the age of 15. I weigh 104 pounds and I am five feet one and a half inches tall. I have many, many, many, many hobbies (or so I say...). I have sensitive feelings, that's for sure. Please do not make fun of my last name because I will think that you are extremely immature and I will be hurt. Emotionally.
I am currently attending Manhattan Hunter Science High School(MHSHS) on the Martin Luther King Jr. campus on 66th Street. I am a sophomore in this school and I aim to major in the mathematics department. I feel that homework and classwork is necessary but I don't like it when the teachers overdo it. MHSHS is a good school and really safe, what with the metal detectors and all. The work is about average, not so hard yet not so easy. The good thing about this school is that the teachers use a website where they post up all of the grades, where they are then sorted into each of the students' individual accounts. That way, we get to keep up with our grades and check on them whenever we want. We can also prove to our parents that we actually got that 100% on the test we did last week. That site is MyGradeBook. It's very useful, if you ask me. So basically, if you are a senior in junior high and you plan on attending Manhattan Hunter Science High School, you can just ask me anytime. I'm available for questions anytime. All you need to do is ask. Yup. Just ask.... Why am I musing about my school, again? On to my hobbies, maybe?
As you may or may not know, depending on whether you may or may not know me (and whether or not you are just taking a wild guess), I daydream quite a bit. I just took a long pause to imagine how my first blog ever will turn out. I was planning on putting a few periods there but I just left it. Anyway, I daydream a lot. It became a habit when I was in kindergarten only because I never 'napped' when it was 'nap time'. I just laid there and daydreamed while listening to a few of the boys in my class snore their throats out (I really want to see that, I think....) while they slept. Is this even a hobby..?
Alright then, on to my actual hobbies. I like to read fictions while eating chips, read comics, watch anime, chat online, play games, procrastinate (is this a habit or a hobby?), collect stuffed animals, admire cats and kittens, listen to music, write lyrics (sometimes), write short stories, and... be as hyper as possible! That's about it, basically.
I hope to make a good blogging life, then. Farewell for the time being.
